If you ever find yourself in Camden, I have a spot for you to visit! Aside from the cool art or the markets selling weird and wonderful things, make sure you leave some time for some great food!! Burgers to be precise. Ahhh burgers take me to my happy place. The squidgy bun, the juicy patty, the crispy lettuce and the gooey cheese – it’s perfect! Let me introduce you to Burger UK.
Burger UK opened up not so long ago and is situated a few minutes away from Camden Town station. I spoke to the lovely owner Danish, who was incredibly passionate about what he does. He explained to me that he only uses fresh, organic and locally sourced produce – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
THE FOOD:
TRUFFLE FRIES (£3.30)
I wasn’t going to order these until Danish told me they were super good and I just had to try them.
He was right! These were AMAZING and I was so addicted to them. They were the best fries I’ve had in a long time. They were crispy but gooey where they had been covered with the deliciously salty, garlicky and cheesy sauce.
BATTERED CHICKEN STRIPS (£5.50)
I tried both their teriyaki and sweet & spicy chicken strips. Both flavours were great and were not too overpowering. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside… perfect!
8oz BEEF BURGER (£8.50)
The burger patty was super juicy and was topped with lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles and house sauce – just the way I like it! It had a good amount of seasoning and it was definitely a good burger!
The only criticism was that it was pretty messy to eat and fell apart, however I personally like to get stuck in and embrace the messiness of a burger!
CHICKEN BURGER (£8)
I wanted to try this but I didn’t ever think that I would like it more than the beef burger. I was wrong as it was amazing! Just like the strips, the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I added a slice of cheddar cheese which made it even better.
I think if the mayo was flavoured rather than plain, it would have been even better!
Overall I think Burger UK is a great addition to London’s halal burger scene. I wouldn’t say it’s the best burger joint I’ve ever visited but it is definitely up there and I would return next time I’m in Camden. I would suggest trying it out especially for their truffle fries!

Looks good. I’ll have to go there as I live near Camden. Do they do grilled chicken burgers?
