There are a wealth of restaurants that have introduced special Ramadan menus and there are numerous exciting events taking place across the capital. BEEF N BIRDS
Head to Brick Lane and try out Beef & Birds for burgers, chicken and milkshakes. Their set menu is reasonably priced and starts from £12.95 – £15. I’ve got my eye on the dark chocolate chicken wings!

BEITEL ZAYTOUN
For a Lebanese feast, try out Beitel Zaytoun. Their Ramadan menu has a wide range of dishes and costs £26pp. It will be served for 1 hour from sunset. They will also be offering a delicious suhoor from 11.30pm to 12.45am.

My pre-Ramadan feast consisted of a huge mixed grill from Boof in Ealing. They serve delicious Persian food and are offering an iftar special for only £12.99! I’d recommend the joojeh chicken with saffron rice.

Burger UK serve up some of my favourite burgers in London! They are offering an iftar deal which includes a standard single beef or chicken burger, regular fries or onion rings, and a soft drink – all for just £10. You must be following them on Instagram to redeem the offer.

THE GREAT CHASE
You must know by now that TGC is one of my favourite halal restaurants in London. The food is delicious and of great quality. Their 3-course iftar set menu including treats such as lamb shank and roast chicken, is available for £32 per person. Be sure to book in advance as it gets full! You will need to pay a deposit too.

HONEST BURGER
A very exciting halal collaboration between Honest Burger and Philip Juma, the British-Iraqi chef behind JUMA Kitchen has taken place in time for Ramadan! The burger combines JUMA fried chicken seasoned with fennel seeds, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin and coriander seeds with saffron mayo, red cabbage slaw, crispy onions and lettuce. How good that sound?! It comes with Honest’s homemade rosemary salted chips for £12.50. Please note that this collaboration is only at the Bond St branch.

HONEY AND SMOKE
Break your fast at Honey and Smoke with dates, nuts, mountain tea and a refreshing orange blossom iced tea. This is followed by plenty of mezze and platters including joojah chicken and slow cooked lamb with plums and roses. Finish with some hearty cardamom coffee and their gorgeous selection of sweets such as their mamool and feta cheesecake.

IFTAR WITH DISHOOM
Every year, Dishoom hosts an iftar event in King’s Cross under West Handyside Canopy. This year the event will consist of a live call to prayer, delicious food and an opportunity to meet new people and soak in the community spirit of Ramadan. Every penny of the ticket price is going to the charity Akshaya Patra, an NGO for children in India. Tickets cost £12 and must be bought in advance.

Koolcha is one of London’s coolest new Indian restaurant openings. It’s situated in Boxpark Wembley and has opened up by Michelin star chef Rohit Ghai and Abhishake Sangwan. This Ramadan they are offering a non-vegetarian menu for £20 featuring items such as chicken pepper fry and a chicken tikka masala thali. They are also offering a non-veg menu for £18. Both come with rasmalai (yum)!

MAISON DU MEZZES
Maison Du Mezzé are celebrating Ramadan with daily changing iftar menus. Their Middle Eastern 4 course menu costs £25pp and will include traditional dishes such as chicken freekeh. A big part of Ramadan is sharing, giving and community spirit. Why are these restaurants offering sit in? It does not comply with social distancing. Last thing we need is the news reporting that Muslims are not complying with social distancing.
