Hey amigos! I was craving something different on a rainy afternoon, and I had the perfect place in mind for me and A to go to. Loco Mexicano! Halal Mexican food, in a restaurant that likes to keep it simple; it was clear that they didn’t waste much money on flashy interior! Loco Mexicano, where you can wear sombreros and goof around, offers a fun vibe that is perfect to enjoy with your friends or family.
On to the food…
Classic Nachos (£5.50)
Mmmm…Just minutes after we ordered, our nachos came out covered with hot gooey cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Needless to say, the flavours worked perfectly together, and at just £5.50, it’s the perfect option for sharing.
Spicy Beef Tacos (£5.50)
I was a bit disappointed that Loco Mexicano use crispy taco shells and not the more authentic, softer tortilla wraps you might find elsewhere. Nonetheless, the supermarket-style crispy shells didn’t take much away from the tacos. The spicy beef, which wasn’t actually noticeably spicy, was a little dry on its own, but stuffed with the cheese, guac and salsa, it was delicious.
Buffalo BBQ Wings (£4.95)
These BBQ wings were unfortunately as (un)appetising as they look in the picture above. The chicken tasted rubbery and the wings didn’t taste fresh. We hate to waste food, but neither A nor I could encourage each other to take the last wing. Stay clear of these! ?
Chicken Fajitas (£12.50)
I always find it fun when restaurants serve you some sort of bread and its filling, so that you can “make” your own wrap. In Loco Mexicano’s case, we were served a sizzling hot-plate with tender chunks of chicken, peppers and onions that we wrapped in the steamed tortillas provided, and (obviously) topped the fajita with cheese, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. The chicken fajitas really did taste good so it’s no surprise that Loco Mexicano pride themselves on these!
With well priced and good sized portions, Loco Mexicano is a place you can easily have a good time at with friends/family without hurting your wallet too much (£15pp). The restaurant doesn’t offer a fine dining experience, but for something different, it’s really worth paying a visit. If you do, then tell us how you found it! ?

I love reading your reviews. They are honest and straight to the point, unlike other halal food bloggers, that I have subscribed to, in the past.
