Remember in this post when I told you I had shockingly put on a little bit of weight? Well maybe it’s not that shocking. Maybe it’s due to the fact that for the last month I’ve been scouring London for the best hot chocolates! Oh yessss. I’ve come up with a list of TEN ultimate drool-worthy hot chocolates that you have to try this winter. C’mon it’s cold outside; you need it!
In no particular order (because that’s just way too difficult)…
1) FATTIES BAKERY (£3.00)
A rich and creamy hot chocolate that’s piped with a marshmallow (vegetarian) and torched right in front of you so that it’s gooey and warm!
2) CHIN CHIN LABS (£3.90)
Very similar to the above however they literally use an ice cream scoop to top your glorious hot chocolate with a huge ball of sweet, fluffy (vegetarian) happiness. They use delicious valrhona chocolate too!
3) CHOCCYWOCCYDOODAH (£3.99)
This one was my favourite! It was sweet and creamy without being sickening. The bottom third is pure melted chocolate and it is topped with frothy hot milk, cream, cocoa powder, chocolate straws AND biscuits! You can choose between dark, milk, white and even salted caramel (don’t judge me if I tell you I may have tried 3 out of the 4).
4) RABOT 1745 (£3.50)
Tucked away in Borough Market, Rabot is a cute spot for a more milky and less rich hot chocolate. It’s topped with chocolate flavoured whipped cream *omg*!
5) DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY LONDON
Okay so if you read my post on DAB London you will know that I’m in LOVE with this place! They recently introduced their blossoming hot chocolates that are incredibly pretty.
Can we have a moment for this marshmallow (made with fish gelatine) that becomes a flower! ‘Blooming’ 😉 cool if you ask me! This one is for the dark hot chocolate fans. It would be great if they had milk chocolate too.
6) DARK SUGARS (£3.50)
Chocolate at the bottom of your cup plus hot frothy milk topped with a mountain of milk, white and dark chocolate shavings. Can’t get better than that!
7) L’ETO CAFFE(£3.80)
Slightly different to the norm, I opted for their white hot chocolate with pistachio and rose! It’s not very sweet but the warm milk and taste of pistachio made it so heartwarming and makes it perfect to end a long day of hardcore shopping.
8) SAID DAL 1923 (£4.00)
If you’re the type of person who likes to drink melted chocolate, this one is for you! Incredibly rich – perhaps a bit too much for me despite having a sweet tooth, but it was definitely delicious!
9) MUD (£2.50)
Mud is a small cafe in Tooting that serves a great hot chocolate! Definitely worth a trip down south especially if you’re in the mood for a fantastic Aussie brunch.
10) GRANGER & CO (£3.50)
Check out this cup of hot milk with gloopy blobs of chocolate dotted around and ready to be mixed in! Mmmm.
Enjoy! <3

Great! But may I know how you guys made sure of it? Normally when you ask the staff did they actually show you guys the product they use (so you could check the ingredients of the choc/marshmallow) or just by literal informing their menu is halal? Im curious to know how you guys normally do it because me myself sometime not sure how to actually ask to verify some food/drinks are 100% made from halal ingredient especially when it comes to dessert! Because I understand some choc can contain alcohol or marshmallow are mostly made of gelatin not from fish gelatin and that we are not sure how if the animal is slaughtered islamic way (thus have to avoid gelatin not from fish/vege) and whipped cream I do not know how to verify a halal whipped cream and milk or even cheese!
