One of my new favourite recipes has got to be this one! Crispy, deep fried prawns coated in a spicy sauce AKA DYNAMITE PRAWNS! They’re absolutely delicious, easy to make and are a great starter to share this Ramadan. I made them with a little help from Hellmann’s Mayonnaise to make it extra creamy. Find the recipe below!
DYNAMITE PRAWNS RECIPE
Serves 4-5 people Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 5mins
INGREDIENTS
For the sauce
1/2 cup Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise
1/3 cup sweet chilli sauce
2 tbsp hot sauce
For the prawns
300g prawns
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 egg
For the flour mix
1 cup flour
1/2 cup corn flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Oil for frying
Spring onions to garnish (optional)
METHOD
- Simply mix the ingredients for the sauce (Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce, hot sauce) and set aside
- Mix the ingredients for the prawns (prawns, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, egg) and set aside
- Combine the ingredients for the flour (flour, corn flour, salt and garlic powder)
- Coat each prawn in the flour mix evenly and dust off any excess
- Heat a pan of oil on a high heat and deep fry the prawns until golden (for around 5 minutes)
- Remove the prawns from the oil and coat well in the spicy sauce
- Garnish with sliced spring onion
