Do you work in the City? Are you bored of your packed lunch or the same old sandwich you buy every day? Well… I have an alternative for you! With winter around the corner, you’re going to want something warm and hearty! And nothing says warm and hearty better than a curry! Let me introduce you to Pali Kitchen…
Pali Kitchen is a cute little Indian place on Bow Lane. They have a few tables if you’d like to sit in, but most people take their meals away.
As well as curry boxes, they serve up salad boxes and kati rolls!
Here’s how it works:
- Decide whether you want a curry, salad or kati roll.
- Pick a protein (chicken tikka, lamb yakhni, saag paneer or jackfruit).
- Add toppings such as slaw/ chillis.
- Choose a dressing (raita, tamarind, green chilli sauce).
I visited Pali Kitchen on a cold, rainy day so I was definitely in the mood for a warm curry with fluffy rice! I picked the lamb option and topped it with salad, chillis and green chilli sauce!
LAMB CURRY BOX (£6.55)
I wouldn’t say it was the best curry I’ve ever had but it was defintiely nice. It had a lot of flavour and it was really filling! The green chilli sauce on top was delicious but it is super spicy so be aware of that. To improve, I would have preferred the lamb to be cut into bigger pieces as opposed to shredded.
CHICKEN CURRY (£6.55)
I also tried their limited edition Bombay spicy chicken curry which I thought was a lot tastier! I’d definitely recommend this over the lamb option!
CHAI (£2)
Don’t forget to complete your meal with a hot cup of chai!
Overall I think that Pali Kitchen is a decent option if you’re looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat. It’s not a place I’d plan to go to for a nice dinner out, but I’d certainly choose it over a boring sandwich for lunch!
