Remember the time I told you about the cool things I find during exam time? Well another time that this happens is of course, during Ramadan (typical). Snowflake, a shop specialising in gelato started to serve afternoon tea! Not just any afternoon tea…. ice cream afternoon tea! After Ramadan you can guess where I went. After a long day of blog meetings during London’s heat wave, I headed straight to Selfridges to cool myself down!
Snowflake is quite small and is located at the back of the food hall, in the corner. We were greeted by really friendly staff and got ordering our drinks. We both decided to opt for hot chocolate (in order to prevent brain freeze)!
An extremely rich and decadent hot chocolate, yum!
Our afternoon tea in all its glory 😀
Macaron ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cannolis *heavy breathing*. My fave was the yellow (salted chocolate) cannoli!
How cute are the mini cones 😮 Hazelnut and dark chocolate cones with vanilla ice cream inside!
After all the ice cream, the sorbet lollies were really refreshing! They were extremely fresh and you could taste the bits of fruit in them too which added a nice touch.
Bearing in mind I had lunch just 2 hours before, I was struggling now! The above shows slices of ice cream and cake sandwiched between MORE slices of cake with a subtle hint of almond sweetness, all of which was coated in nutella! Byeeee diet.
For £15pp, we received a lot of treats and compared to the usual price of afternoon tea, this was pretty good. Overall everything was very nice, however it did not meet my expectations. Perhaps the lack of food during Ramadan made me over excited, but I was left slightly disappointed. I still however feel it’s a great idea and is something to check out. At the end of the day, it’s ice cream and I don’t think you’ll dislike it. In terms of the service, it was great! The lady serving us was so lovely and we ended up chatting for ages!
