As much as I love burgers, I kind of went off them for a couple of months. It’s strange because I absolutely love the juicy little things. Perhaps it’s because I overdosed on them back in August, when I did my post on London’s best halal burgers. Little old me may have consumed over 10 burgers in the space of 3 days *rolls away in shame*. Well, my friends… you’ll be glad to know that I’m back to my usual burger-loving self and recently hit up Band of Burgers!
Here’s what we ate…
CARAMEL MILKSHAKE (£4.90)
Anyone who knows me well knows that I’m a pretty fussy milkshake drinker. I’ve had a lot of milkshakes and this one was very good! It was perfectly thick, perfectly creamy and had just the right amount of sweetness.
CLASSIC AND PASSIONFRUIT MOJITOS (£4.90)
These were delicious and tasted fresh, rather than overly sweet/syrupy as some mojitos often are. My favourite from the two was the passionfruit mojito.
CALAMARI (£6)
We all agreed that the calamari was delicious. It wasn’t overly greasy and wasn’t overly chewy either!
PERI CHICKEN WINGS (£5)
The peri chicken wings had a great amount of flavour and were nice, but nothing to shout out about.
LAMB CHOPS (7.50)
The lamb chops were fantastic! They packed in enough flavour and were really tender. The meat came off the bone super easily and there were no chewy fatty bits.
THE AMERICAN (£8)
I opted for their American burger which is topped with a deep fried cheese patty and their spicy tomato relish. Just look at it oozeeee oh yes!
BOB use Angus meat and it was of great quality. I personally prefer the patty to be more loosely packed as it has more flavour and all the burger juices are free to drip out (yum)! BOBs is not loosely packed so I felt like it was a little dry for my liking, but my friends seemed to enjoy it!
The cheese also got a little overwhelming and filling, although it was great to start off with!
LOVECADO (£7.80)
If you’re an avo lover then you should definitely opt for the Lovecado burger! Their classic burger topped with avocado guacamole.
MUCKY FINGERS – CHEESY FRIES (£4.80)
Finally… the fries! Unfortunately I found the fries to be really disappointing. They were quite bland and dry and I wish they were crispier. Having said this it was nice that it was topped with melted cheddar cheese as opposed to cheesy sauce (although I enjoy that too)!
Overall Band of Burgers was pretty good. If you’re a fan of tightly packed burgers then this is the place to go. But if you’re like me and prefer looser patties then it might not be your thing. The starters and milkshakes were fantastic and I can’t stop thinking about those lamb chops!
